The following is a list of the most frequent asked
questions that we have received. We have also provided
responses to those questions for your convenience.
Q. What are the initial setup
costs for your services?
A. Minimal. We are proud to say that we are very conscious
of keeping your cost down.
Q. Do I need a computer or
any other equipment to file electronically?
A. No. We provide a pick-up service for the information
that is required for processing claims. Electronic
claim processing can then begin once the information
is entered into our system. A superbill can be picked
up at your location, sent by mail, faxed or delivered
by a professional carrier.
Q. How can Empire Medical Billing
improve your cash flow?
A. We challenge all rejected claims and dramatically reduce your accounts
receivable. We file all claims electronically, which maximizes your insurance
claim reimbursements to the shortest possible time. We eliminate the overhead
expense associated with insurance billing such as salaries, vacations, sickness,
training, turnover, office space, computer hardware and software, and other
operation necessities. In many cases this can result in substantial savings
of 60% or more.
Q. Will there be a delay in
billing while we are being set up for electronic
claims filing?
A. No, your regular billing cycle will continue while
we set you up for electronic billing. When you contract
with Empire Medical Billing, we will begin filing paper
claims immediately so that there is no delay in your
billing. As soon as your practice / operation is set
up to file claims electronically, we automatically
begin transmitting your claims through a clearinghouse
aor directly to the insurance carriers.
Q. Would it be more cost effective
to file electronic claims in-house instead of using
a billing service?
A. No, We substantially reduce your operation overhead
(salary, benefits, office space, are eliminated). And,
we do all of the above at a small fraction of what
it would cost your operation to perform the same tasks.
An effective billing service is much more detail oriented
specialty then most in-house billers realize. As an
example there are many trade secrets that can be applied
to most situations that can result in operation saving
and consistency in payments. We understand or have
access to government polices and programs. Keeping
up-to-date with all this information can be extremely
time consuming to your operation. We understand the
importance of the details that insurance companies
need for proper payment. We stay informed of all ICD-9
and CPT code changes, and we use our contacts with
the carriers to stay abreast of any internal changes
that may impact or result in reduced payments / or
non payments for your practice.
Q. Can Empire Medical Billing
collect on overdue accounts?
A. We sure can actually, we will follow-up on all
your receivables in order to reduce un-collectable
accounts. We have an excellent system for tracking
outstanding monies owed to you.
Q. Can Empire Medical Billing
handle multiple Medical specialties within a single
practice / operation?
A. Yes, we incorporate state of the art technology
and the most effective billing techniques available
to handle multiple physicians within a practice.
Q. Can your operation handle
large businesses such as hospital and nursing homes?
A. Absolutely| We currently are servicing several
larger accounts.
Q. How long does it take to
receive reimbursement?
A. The average time to collect on electronic reimbursement
is between 8 to 15 days.
Q. Can Empire Medical Billing
facilitate long distance contracts?
A. Yes we can. Out of town clients are handled the
same way. Information is exchanged through fax, telephone,
e-mail, regular mail or commercial carriers.
Q. How much does our service
cost?
A. You have two choices, you can either choose to
be billed at a flat monthly rate or we can charge a
percentage based on the monies that we collect for
your practice. Fees for "FULL BILLING and Collection
Service" are competitively priced and vary based
on the size of your practice, and the scope of services
provided.
Q. Does Empire Medical Billing
charge annual renewal fees?
A. No. We do not have any licensing fees nor other
ongoing charges. If you relocate, however, we ask that
you let us know so that we can update our records.

how to handle data exchange when you add a new location
or grow your business.
Q. Does your organization
guarantee it services?
A. We certainly do. We feel confident about our services
and that is why we get paid after you have collected
from the insurance carrier. If we are unable to handle
your immediate billing situation via phone, fax, e-mail,
or through a commercial carrier, we will pickup your
work with in one business day. Finally there is no
charge to you for resubmitted claims if it is our fault
for the claim being rejected.
